Sam's Story: Embrace Life Fully

Sam Parker

Hi everyone, my name is Samantha but I go by Sam. My recovery journey began on March 18th, 2012, after struggling with addiction that started when I was just 11 years old. Growing up in a home where addiction was normalized, I knew early on how destructive cycles can be. When I found out I was pregnant with my beautiful daughter, I made the choice to break that cycle.

Recovery has been a daily commitment, and navigating mental health challenges—especially after experiencing a life-altering event in 2021—has strengthened my resilience and fueled my purpose.

I am passionate about helping others, particularly my local homeless population, and I hope to one day start a nonprofit that will make a meaningful impact in my state and eventually nationwide. Outside of advocacy, I embrace life fully: I love fall, Halloween, and everything spooky; I enjoy reading, exploring new miniature golf courses, working out at the gym, attending concerts, and spending quality time with my daughter.

I strive to live intentionally, appreciate the little things, and continuously grow. Traveling the world, learning as much as I can, and spreading positivity are central to who I am. My journey has taught me that life is meant to be lived fully, not just survived, and I hope to inspire others to do the same.
