AJ Diaz, LMSW, CASACChief Clinical Officer and Co-Founder, You Are Accountable
AJ leads clinical methodology at Accountable and reviews every guide and substance page on this site.
AJ's own recovery started with opioids. He was a college athlete in Pennsylvania when a habit that began as curiosity became a dependence that took over his days and cost him a job he loved. He got sober through a treatment center, intensive outpatient and outpatient care, and sober living, and he has been in long-term recovery since. That stretch after treatment, when the structure falls away and ordinary life restarts, is the reason Accountable exists.
He went on to earn a master's degree in social work and holds an LMSW license and CASAC credential in New York. As Chief Clinical Officer and Co-Founder, he designed Accountable's peer coaching and monitoring model and sets the clinical standards the care team works to, aligned to the ASAM Criteria Fourth Edition Level 1.0 for long-term remission monitoring. He reviews every guide and substance page published on this site.
