The idea behind Accountable

Addiction is a chronic condition. Recovery deserves long-term care.

You see your coach every week

Same person, same time, on video from wherever you are. Not for 28 days. For as long as you want them around.

You build your care team

Your therapist, your doctor, your mom, your sponsor. You pick who's in the know and how much they see. Your coach keeps everyone on the same page.

You turn support up or down

Three sessions a week when it's hard. One when it's not. More group meetings, or fewer. Support that scales with your life.

“They do what they say they're going to do, even when I resented them for it at times. They've been instrumental in coordinating care, giving my family peace of mind, and most importantly, holding me accountable.”

★★★★★

“The daily check-ins and encouragement from the team have kept me motivated and focused on my goals. I don't feel alone in this process anymore.”

Samantha L.

★★★★★

“My peer coach, Dani, is wonderful and very supportive. She really understands where I'm coming from and my struggles from day to day. I will continue with the groups and my progress thanks to this program.”

What you get

Five parts that work together. One plan that adapts to you.

Weekly coaching

One to three video sessions a week with a certified peer specialist who's in recovery themselves.

Daily testing

A daily at-home breathalyzer check and random saliva screening. You control who sees the results.

Messaging in between

Daily check-ins and a real person to message when the week gets hard, not a bot.

Daily group meetings

Group recovery meetings every day, open to every member, led by a coach. Talk or just listen.

Care coordination

Your family, therapist, program, and prescriber on the same page, with your consent. Your coach makes the calls.

In one app

Check-ins, results, and progress, in one place.

Your care team sees it only when you say so.

Katie, Accountable recovery coach

Our coaches work from every corner of the country, so someone in your time zone has been where you are. Every coach is in recovery themselves, holds a peer recovery certification in their state, and carries the national NCPRSS credential. They aren't therapists or doctors; they work alongside your care, not instead of it.

For families

Nobody should have to guess when to step in and when to step back.

Your coach works with the people who love you, too. A person to call, a family group every week, and, when you choose it, a way to hear how you're doing without asking.

Every plan includes your coach, daily group meetings, daily testing, messaging, and care coordination. Covered by commercial health plans, with more added every month, and by Medicare in select states.

Our story

Built by two people who needed this and couldn't find it.

Both in long-term recovery. In 2020 they built the support they'd wanted after treatment.

About Accountable

Accountable (You Are Accountable, Inc.) is a Red Bank, New Jersey company founded in 2020 that provides long-term addiction recovery support, delivered entirely online, at home. Members work with certified peer recovery specialists in weekly video sessions, complete daily at-home breathalyzer and random saliva screening, attend daily group recovery meetings, message their coach between sessions, and choose which family members and clinicians their coach keeps informed. The model, called Accountability Care, is aligned to ASAM Criteria Level 1.0, long-term remission monitoring. Accountable is peer support, not treatment, and works alongside treatment programs, therapists, and prescribers. Since 2020 it has supported more than 10,000 people in all 50 states and partners with more than 500 treatment programs.
